FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Ammonia is a harmful chemical, but in small doses it is safe to use. Hair dyes that contain ammonia are cream based. They result in a vibrant, long lasting color that offers 100% grey coverage.

Ammonia free hair dyes are oil based and less damaging for the hair and more likely to cause allergic reactions. However, the color fades faster and they don't offer 100% grey hair coverage.

Yes, but sometimes it requires that you first bleach it (go blonde). We use only the best colors and can make recommendations after seeing you in person.

If you bleach your hair at home, you may very well end up damaging it. If you do it in a salon, on the other hand, we are able to use toners beforehand that minimize the damage to your hair. What’s more, we use bleach that are very mild on the hair. In addition to that, a skilled colorist can help you get the perfect blonde tone you’re after (people often end up with more brassy—yellow and red tones—than desired when trying to go go ash blonde, for example).

Balayage is a free painting highlighting technique that leaves your hair looking sun kissed—with the ends looking a lot lighter than your roots. It adds depth by using highlights and, sometimes, low lights.

Ombré is a coloring technique that gradually makes your hair lighter. In other words—your hair is dark at the roots and light at the ends. Unlike balayage, ombré does not use highlights and low lights, but offers a unified color. You can choose to go with your real color at the roots, using that as the dark end of the spectrum, or dye your entire hair a different color.

Both ombré and balayage are low maintenance if you go with your natural color, as you can let your hair grow out as much as you like before topping up. Even if you decide to let your hair grow out all the way it won’t look funny.

Balayage and hair highlights are great as your hair looks naturally sun kissed and we live in a sunny place!

Yes, absolutely! Our stylists will look at your skin tone, the color of your eyes, as well as your personal preferences and overall style and help you choose the perfect hair color.
